Art Direction
As the Art Director at "freundin" magazine, I lead the design team, curating fonts, colors, and layouts to create an engaging visual experience. After 75 years, we've embraced modern design to align with current trends and reader preferences. Our keen eye for detail and adaptation to print and digital platforms have revitalized the magazine's appeal, making "freundin" a contemporary publication with a diverse readership. I'm dedicated to pushing creative boundaries and ensuring the magazine's continued relevance and inspiration for years ahead.

The freundin magazine underwent a comprehensive graphic modernization on all levels: typography, imagery, logo, social media, and video. Over a period of three years, more than 11,000 pages were continuously redesigned to keep the magazine up-to-date. The typography was updated to a sans-serif, highly legible font. The imagery received high-quality and aesthetic pictures to establish an emotional connection with the readers. The logo was simplified while remaining recognizable. The graphic adjustments extended to the social media platforms to present the brand consistently. This four-year modernization successfully enabled the magazine to integrate into the digital age and attract new readers.
In almost 4 years we've created over 70 covers, witnessing a captivating evolution over time. With each magazine, we delved into the creative process, adapting to changing trends and reader preferences while staying true to our identity. The logo and imagery underwent significant changes, reflecting our commitment to remaining fresh and relevant. Collaborating with photographers and illustrators, we crafted magazines that became powerful storytelling tools, engaging readers and inspiring creativity. The journey has been exhilarating, and I'm dedicated to shaping future covers that continue to captivate and inspire our audience.
